Where to buy your car?
Let’s face it. The cost of purchasing a car has really plummeted in the last year alone whether you are buying a new car from a dealer, or second hand car from a private sale.
It used to be the case where you could go to the North of Ireland or take a trip to the UK to buy your car and register it on Irish plates paying VRT for a fraction of the cost of purchasing here in the Republic of Ireland. This has changed… Ooh yes. Although the rate of VRT is extorsionately high and not representavie of the current market value, it’s still just as cheap to buy you car in the Republic of Ireland and not pay VRT. Simply because anyone selling their car now knows they have no chance of selling it by keeping last years high prices.
Yes, they are loosing money on the sale but that’s just they way life of economy works. Same for anyone trying to sell their property.
If your in the market for buying then Great! Buy now. Prices won’t stay this low for much longer.
