Paul Maye graduated with a BA Fine Art - Paint & Printmaking in 1996. In 2002, he was awarded an Arts Council grant for a residency at Arthouse, Dublin. He was selected to participate in the Florence Biennial in 2003 and again in 2005. In 2011 he was commissioned by Absolut Vodka for the Galway Arts Festival.

Through digital imaging, photography, sculpture, radiography and explosives his practice is an ongoing exploration into the nature of perception, identity, belief systems and constructed realities. His work frequently subverts the inherent properties and associations of a particular medium.
