With the current series of Fictional Portraits I wanted to move away from the flat uniform lighting style of previous versions to explore a more dramatic lighting arrangement. Inspired by classical portrait painting of the 19th Century these new portraits explore classical poses where the sitter’s gaze is often directed away from the viewer, as though lost in thought.
